How payments and refunds work
Paying for a spot
The price you see is the full price: the organizer's price plus Pitchin's $2 service fee. Payments are processed by Stripe. Pitchin never sees your card number.
If the game is cancelled
Every organizer sets a minimum number of players and a deadline. If the minimum isn't reached by the deadline, or the organizer cancels, everyone is refunded in full, including the service fee. It happens automatically.
If you cancel
- Before the deadline: full refund, and your spot goes to the next person on the waitlist.
- After the deadline: you're refunded in full only if someone on the waitlist takes your spot.
- No-shows aren't refunded. The organizer has already paid for the field.
The waitlist
When a game is full, you can join the waitlist. We put a hold on your card for the full price, but we don't charge it. If a spot opens, you're moved in and charged automatically. If no spot opens before kickoff, or you leave the waitlist, the hold is released. Card holds can last at most about 7 days, so the waitlist opens 6 days before kickoff.
Refund timing
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Banks usually take 5–10 business days to show them.
